Mr. Denmon Lee, 79, was a resident of THE RETREAT at Belle Maison Nursing Home from March 1 - May 13, 2016. Mr. Lee sustained a fall which resulted in a fractured hip. After undergoing surgery, he required rehabilitation in order to return to his own home and prior level of functioning.
He chose THE RETREAT at Belle Maison Nursing Home to receive the rehabilitation that would help him reach the goals that he set for himself which included walking, dressing, and taking care of his animals. Along with the outstanding physical and occupational therapy and excellent nursing care, in the comfort of his private room, he was able to reach those goals. He feels that the facility staff and therapists were vital assets to his recovery.
Mr. Lee decided to stay with his son for a few days after discharge from THE RETREAT and then return to his own home to live independently as he did before his fall. He will continue to receive therapy with home health and pledges “to be very safe and do what he can to prevent another fall”.
Mrs. Reitz was weak, off balance and had fallen at home. She came to THE RETREAT at Belle Maison Nursing Home to get better, be able to move better, and get back to doing her own things.
She feels her stay at THE RETREAT assisted in getting her ready to return home.
"They are going to get me Home Health. I know what to do to exercise and keep getting better, and I know how to be more careful. I really appreciate all of ya'll. It makes you feel better when people are nice to you. We've been here many times visiting others, but this was the first time being here for me."
Mr. Mott was a resident of THE RETREAT at Belle Maison Nursing Home for approximately 3 weeks, while recovering from hip surgery. His recovery process included Physical and Occupational therapy, in which he feels improved his lifestyle by helping him become more independent.
He feels his goals were met with the help of the nursing home staff and therapists. "They were very, very helpful. Those therapists are good!" Upon returning home with his wife, he states he will continue therapy through Home Health and will continue to push himself.
